Poker FansThe New Face of Poker?
A well-timed yell of support from the sidelines here in the Amazon Room was just recently heard which sheds light on an ever-growing phenomenon.
With poker's recent mainstream surge to popularity, it's no secret that the etiquette and "gentlemanly" aspect of the game has eroded in the eyes of many. Organized chants by spectators, aggressive taunting, and all out "trash talk" are aspects of today's game that were relatively unheard of a decade ago. It's quite obvious, however, based on the trends noticed thus far, that these aspects of the game, good or bad, are here to stay. -

A Charitable Prop Bet
Ray Romano and Brad Garrett had a $2,000 last longer wager. Garrett won the prop bet and will donate the money to the Maximum Hope Foundation for families with terminally ill children. Everyone wins in this instance. Poker players often get a bad reputation. It's refreshing to see poker utilized as a conduit for charitable causes.

Black Takes a Small Hit
Andy Black was first to act and checked the

board. A player in early position behind Black checked as well, and a third player in the hand made it 4,000 to go. Black made the call, after which the early position player moved all-in over the top for a total of 10,200. The original bettor called, as did Black, creating a heads-up sidepot.
The turn brought the

The last card off the deck was the

The side pot was settled first and Black showed
for top two pair with an Ace kicker, but his opponent showed a pocket pair of Kings to take the side pot. Kings would ultimately be enough to scoop the entire pot, as the player who moved all-in on the flop mucked his cards after he saw the Kings.
Black took a loss on the hand, but is still in fine shape at 120,000 chips. -
