En av verdens mest kjente pokerspillere, Johnny Chan som innehar imponerende 10 World Series bracelets i sitt navn. Fra begynnelsen ble Johnny Chan en av de beste pokerspillerne i Las Vegas og vant main event to år på rad i 1987 og 88. I Texas Holdem, begynner nivået så lavt som 0.15/$0.30, og på Limit bordene stiger de i vanlige intervaller helt opp til imponerende $500/$1000. Pot Limit og No Limit Texas Holdem begynner på $0.10/$0.10 og $0.05/$0.10 og stiger gradvis opp til $5/$10 og $50/$100. Omaha begynner på $0.25/$0.50 for Limit og Pot Limit bordene og begynner på $0.15/$0.25 for No Limit. Omaha bordenes høyeste nivå er $25/$50 nivå. De andre spillene følger omtrent de samme nivåene, men med mest fokus rundt micro til lavt nivå spill. Stud bordene går opp til $50/$100, mens Draw bordene går bare opp til $5/$5 (Pot Limit).

Raken hos Chan Poker er lik med standaren i industrien - flat 5% av potten, opp til maksimum $3. På lavere nivåer er det fortsatt 5 %, men maksimum varierer fra $1 til $3 alt etterstørrelsen på potten og antall spillere som er innvolvert.

As part of the OnGame network, ChanPoker regularly draws around 6000 players to its tables during peak times. Player traffic is focused around the Texas Holdem tables (predominantly No Limit) although there is some action to be found at the Omaha and Stud tables. Tournaments and cash games are easy to come by in a large variety of limits, however the majority are focused on the lower limits; designed for budget play. The Draw tables are often sparsely populated, although action can be found during peak and off-peak times.

Players are greeted with a clean and well designed lobby; courtesy of the aforementioned OnGame network. Large, clear tabbed browsing makes game type, table and limit selection a breeze and the table/tournament description on the right hand side of the lobby is detailed and thorough and includes such statistics as players per flop, average pot size and hands played per hour. Pop-up help boxes will be very useful for beginners when navigating the toolbar and the lobby chat is also a welcome addition. When switching between tabs, the refresh rate lags slightly, although admittedly not long enough to cause any real annoyances.

The tables themselves are the standard OnGame fare, with some nice additional design elements courtesy of ChanPoker. The running hand details are displayed below the community cards, allowing players to see at a glance their current strongest hand. Hot keys and check boxes further help speed up gameplay, which already moves rather quickly. Animations are limited, which means gameplay speed is rarely, if ever, interrupted. Running totals of pot size and bets are also welcome, although they are somewhat on the small side and hard to see when placed on the felt background. The static avatars are a nice touch but only for show and the pop out chat box allows players to better follow the table conversation. As mentioned, games move quickly and the turbo options speed things up even more. The instant play feature is also great, allowing play on any computer, be it Apple, Linux or Windows.
